GoPro Teacher Diary
We greatly respect the craft, day-to-day, and commitment of teachers. We also respect a teachers mind. As recent research suggests, teachers make on average 1,500 educational decisions per day. And, we would argue that doesn’t even include the personal realities of living in a complex social world.
We asked teachers to share a little about their reality. This is a part of a growing educational movement to share real life scenarios to further our understanding. We know that teacher training strictly from a textbook leaves first year teachers behind in their understanding of the realities of the profession, and we are trying to lessen the impact of a first year wake-up call.
In the videos, we will find out about the life of a teacher. This includes any professional or personal challenges or successes or your thoughts in general, as well as the work life balance. Our intention is to share these videos with future teachers. This is in order to prepare them for the experiences that they may encounter. We share the professional decision making process, no matter how small, as well as the social and professional pressures of the teacher day to day. We have evidence of the competing interests for teacher's time, as well as celebrations and critical moments. We are hoping to provide interested individuals with some insight into the realities of the teaching profession.
